How To Manage A Wedding Car Business

July 7th, 2010

Have you ever thought about setting up a wedding car company? Although it can be demanding, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also fascinating and exciting.

Some of the advantages are that you get to own good-looking vehicles – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy conditions and you are in the position to help them have a wonderful wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you keep your vehicles. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really nice vehicles. You will need to do a bit of research to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old vehicles go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars step by step but steadily. Offer your clients as much choice as you can reasonably afford to do.

Many wedding couples will not only require the wedding car, but also vehicles for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old vehicles for their wedding day. But a lot of other vehicles are required for the guests. Be adaptable and consent to bedeck the cars according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, compassionate personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style driver can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make sure that your clients know exactly how long they have exclusive use of the cars for. This is helpful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transport plays a massive and fundamental part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, especially in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality cars that look the part. White wedding vehicles are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

Cottage Rentals In The Country

May 25th, 2010

Most people look forward to going away on holiday and a lot of people like to make complex plans and bookings. After all you frequently have to make allowances for flights and hotels. However, there can also be car, tour and bicycle bookings as well, depending on the category of holiday you want.

Instead of a hotel, you might want to think about renting a private cottage. Cottage rentals are a good alternative to a hotel or guest house. In general, cottage holidays are self-catering, so you would have to be ready to put in a little more work than if you went on an all-inclusive hotel stay. A small cottage on the coast in a secluded setting would suit many people, but a holiday cottage on the coast might be better for others.

If you pick the right location, you can have whatever type of cottage you want. Go to the coast if you like sailing or snorkeling. A coastal resort location would offer more night life probably. If you fancy a quieter fishing vacation with canoing or boating, a quiet lakeside retreat would be more appropriate. Then there are mountain huts and several other degrees of isolation and nightlife too.

If you would like to go to see museums and other touristic sights, you should select a site near an appropriate city. It just requires a little forward planning and consideration.

We live in Wales and there are thousands of rental cottages of all kinds in all manner of locations. If you have a big family, you could hire a number of cottages close to each there and live in a kind of old fashioned village. There are also modern camps like ‘Center Parcs’ which have hundreds of very modern cottages in small groups of four or five so that families or friends can stay in a community together.

These modern cottages are very luxurious, with Jacuzzis, swirl baths, large flat screen televisions and all manner of entertainment equipment and satellite TV. The cottages are set in acres of woodland and wildlife abounds. There are deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels and dozens of types of birds including kingfishers, geese, ducks and swans.

The swimming pools are fully heated and go inside and outside into the woods, so that even in the middle of winter you stay warm. There is also archery, boating and hiking with many courses of differing hardship to follow. It is great to walk in the woods knowing that you cannot get lost with wildlife around every corner.

The wildlife is used to human company, so much or it is not scared and they come right up to you if you stop for a picnic. These holidays are not so cheap as going to a self-catering private holiday, but they are safe, particularly for young families.

You can find cottage rentals through a travel agent, but you can also find them by searching in your local newspaper. These are some of the best finds because the cottages might be only a few hours drive away, but that is far enough to make a big change. You do not really have to get on a plane to have a great vacation with a difference.

Are You Getting Anxious about Anxiety Depression?

May 15th, 2010

Very many people that burn the candle at both ends, use up not only all their physical strength, but they also tend to over extend their mental powers to the point where they obviously need some old fashioned time off.

Many busy people who are unable to understand the idea of relaxing and taking time of from work, as well as from their worries, have nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses that cause a person’s sanity to alter. Fortunately, if you are one of those who is unable to relax and who is constantly worried and fussing over things, there are several cures and treatments available for dealing with anxiety depression.

Anxiety depression is actually notable for all kinds of strange behaviour and erratic mood swings in the person who is suffering from it. This is usually due to specific stress triggers. Furthermore, a lot of people who tend to get easily worked up over stressful situations are in fact prone to having anxiety depression. It is actually a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing problematic and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to do at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what will save your mental health from going into a downward spiral.

When it comes to effectively curing oneself of a mental illness, one must keep in mind that one must be honest with oneself and assess what kind of depression or mental illness your suffers from. See to a reputable psychiatrist to get yourself diagnosed properly as well to get the correct depression treatment. Here are the various kinds of depression:

Manic or Bipolar depression – characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one’s mood where one minute the sufferer is in an elevated state of euphoria while the next minute (day or week) the sufferer is in a personal hell.

Postpartum depression – is recognizable by long periods of depression and a feeling of emptiness in a new mother where physical stress during child birth and / or an undefined sense of responsibility towards the new born child are just some of the many reasons why some new mothers go through this illness.

Dysthimia – is recognizable by a perfunctory similarity with bipolar (manic) depression. In this case, however, it has been proven to be much less severe, although, doctors say that, any case of depression should be treated immediately.

Cyclothemia – is characterized by a similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness can sometimes suffer from severe changes in moods.

Seasonal Affective Disorder – characterized by falling into a rut only in specific seasons (i.e. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall). Studies, however, prove that more people become depressed during the Winter and Fall seasons and lastly, mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in just a short period of time.

However, the sort of depression that has been shown to be most common is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized when someone is being overly anxious about given situations. Anxiety is a natural behaviour that actually will help a person cope more with certain stressful activities like a first date or a gruelling exam the following day. Anxiety does actually help you get ready for facing certain “difficult situations”. Therefore, anxiety is actually a good thing.

Anxiety depression however, is just the opposite. However, it should not be lightly dismissed as a “case of the jitters”. Anxiety depression is in actuality an disease that can be caused by the actual DNA of a person, or, in other words, it can be a family.

Moreover, there are even various types of anxiety depression too. Each kind has its own unique characteristics. Take for instance Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD. This type of anxiety depression is a lot more complicated than the normal, common or garden anxiety depression, despite it probably being a daily routine for those who suffer from this anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual much more paranoid than usual. Anxiety attacks are much more frequent, even absurdly so at times.

Suffers can get anxious even when there is no obvious reason that calls for them to behave in such a manner. Those people suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder often show several characteristics varying from from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, becoming tired easily, inability to concentrate and suffering from depression. This sort of anxiety depression is also curable though.

Consult a reputable cognitive behavioural therapist who will give you the therapy that you need to help you loosen up. Furthermore, prescribed medicines are a must to help these individuals combat anxiety attacks, help them calm down and help them relax.

Holidays And Holy Days In The USA

April 25th, 2010

Congress and the president have designated ten days as federal holidays. Being ‘federal’, these holidays theoretically only pertain to federal employees and residents of the District of Columbia, although they are so widely observed that they can be thought of as national holidays.

Legally, it is up to each individual state to designate public holidays. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday before or the Monday after is given in lieu to make a long weekend.

New Year’s Day (January 1) – celebrating the New Year dates back to pre-Christian times, when rites were performed to try to ensure the return of Spring.

Martin Luther King Jnr. Day (third Monday in January) – before he was shot dead in 1968, Martin Luther King Jnr. was the foremost civil rights leader of the 1950’s and 1960’s. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Congress set this day aside to celebrate his life and achievements in 1983.

Washington’s Birthday (third Monday in February) – initially it was celebrated on Washington’s actual birthday, the 22nd of February, but it was moved in 1971 to make a long weekend. It is occasionally known as Presidents’ Day, because it is near Lincoln’s birthday on the 12th February.

Memorial Day (last Monday in May) – also known as Decoration Day, it honours soldiers fallen in battle. It dates from the Civil War and is traditionally marked by parades and services.

Independence Day (4th July) – this, the most significant US holiday, marks the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. It was first celebrated in 1777 and is marked by fireworks, parades and speeches.

Labor Day (first Monday in September) – this, the suggestion of Peter J. McGuire, the president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, was taken up in 1894 to celebrate American workers.

Columbus Day (second Monday in October) – Christopher Columbus and his crew landed in the Bahamas on Oct 12th 1492. It was first commemorated in 1792, although it was not officially recognized until 1909. It is a cause of special pride to Italian-Americans, who claim the Genoan voyager as their own.

Veterans Day (Nov 11th) – or Armistice Day commemorates the end of the First World War on Nov 11th 1918. It was made a legal holiday in 1938, but its name was changed in 1954 to honour all American veteran soldiers.

Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November) – it was first commemorated in Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1621, the year in which the Pilgrims landed in the New World to give thanks for the new harvest and the new land they had colonized. President Lincoln proclaimed it a holiday in 1863.

Christmas Day (December 25th) – Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Anger Management Technique

April 22nd, 2010

Dealing with anger is never easy, since people always have to face problems and reasons for conflict but our anger management technique is crucial. We have to deal with price increases, arguments, war, violence, crime, everyday common stupidity and continuous interruptions. There is not one person in this sometimes difficult world that has not gotten mad at some point.

Anger is an emotion we all have to cope with. Anger comes in many forms, but the root of anger is hatred or frustration as a result of a previous deception or disappointment, which boils down to poor anger management technique. This is true. But, true or not, even in the Bible it says that when the first man and woman were created on the earth, the first noted problem was when the Devil, in the form of a serpent, lied, deceiving Eve. Once the lie became apparent, the world began suffering many problems, including violence, murder, war, shortages, disease, weather disasters etc.

Since that first lie, the world has become more chaotic and continues to worsen as the years roll by. We can examine how a lie can instigate anger by looking at one individual scenario. That person engaged in criminal activities, like stealing, writing bad checks, and selling prescription medications. Now that person had to embroider lying into the picture, since she felt that her behaviour and actions were only a means of survival.

So, she started lying to cover up her crimes. As time went by, that person became angry and could not deal with life, simply as a result of the way she was behaving, her way of thinking, the way she was conducting her life and her poor anger management technique. She began to react like anyone else suffering from uncontrolled anger would behave.

This included, undermining others, insulting others, verbally and physically assaulting, threatening, belittling, mocking, et cetera. The woman was diagnosed with mental illness, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar. She also had health issues, including diabetes. Now, if we examine all the aspects of that person’s anger and anger management technique, we can see, if we search deep enough, that her lying, which caused paranoia, was the basic reason for her behavioral problems.

A lot of people have a problem with their anger management technique. Many of the people with post-traumatic stress disorder react angrily because they are reacting to a flashback in memory. That is right! People with post traumatic stress disorder often repress their emotions and when they are violent or angered, it is often the result of fighting the sources that caused their trauma and not the person in their immediate presence.

But the problem is that, we do not see this as the cause for the woman’s fury, since she did not make the problem public knowledge. Therefore, people would not think of post traumatic stress disorder as the cause, or at least reduce the possibility of it. So, now let’s examine diabetes, since this illness has an affect on the nerves. The shortage of insulin creates other problems too, but many people with diabetes will become upset for practically no reason whatsoever.

However, most of us do not act angrily, assault, insult or attack others. We should also look at why crimes are committed and then we would see that it is usually a serious behavioral problem that has come from lying. Therefore, when we look at this individual we have to deal with the underlying problems to stop her from lying and get her to move forward, avoiding episodes of frustration, anxiety and anger by using anger management technique.

Now, this person is in denial, which means that until the legal system makes her take steps to anger management technique, then she probably will not get help herself. Furthermore, even if the criminal justice system does force her to get help, it probably will not work, since she has been in denial for probably many years. Now we are dealing with a real problem in anger management technique , since her behaviour is life long, which means extensive therapy isneeded.

Anger is a normal emotion, but when it interferes with another person’s life, it becomes a serious problem. This person is not hurting only one person, she is injuring everyone, because when she steals or writes bad checks, society picks up the tab by higher taxes, as well as other levies. One of the biggest things that I have noticed with this type of person, is that the system and society allows it to continue; only attempting to deal with it when the person is in custody. Once the person is released, then it starts again. This is a chain of events involving lack of control due to anger mis-management and bad anger management technique.

Coastal Cottage Holidays

April 13th, 2010

Seaside holidays are extremely popular which is why every year, millions of tourists head for seaside beaches. Perhaps you like coastal holidays too. seaside holidays are fabulous, but that can be the problem too, because it frequently means overcrowding, queuing, rubbish and noise. Have you ever thought about renting your own private coastal cottage? Many only dream about it, but it is not that difficult or costly to arrange actually.

One point to remember is that, public beaches are well-known and that is why they get too busy. However, private coastal cottages are often out-of-the-way or on private beaches, which makes for a much quieter holiday. Often, local people living only miles from the cottage do not know that they exist. Despite this, most coastal cottages do not cost a lot of money to rent.

These coastal cottages are available in many countries around the world. They are certainly very popular in Britain, Europe and the United States. The level of privacy and the facilities available will depend on where you go. A coastal cottage in Wales will give you a very different holiday than a coastal cottage in southern France or Coney Island.

Many coastal cottages are located near a popular vacation destination. Not right in the middle of the location, but generally a few miles or less outside, so that you can easily drive in or even walk in, if you want some livelier entertainment. Typical coastal cottage leisure activities include swimming, sailing, fishing and walking.

Of course, one of the chief considerations when renting a cottage is the rent itself. Now the funny thing is that is not nearly such a big consideration as you might think it would be. The macro location is more important than the micro location. So, Wales might be cheaper than the south of France, but within Wales itself, there is not a huge variation in price, when you equate like with like. Clearly, a five-bedroomed coastal cottage will be more expensive than a three-bedroomed one.

Another situation worth looking into is the ownership of the coastal cottage. Is it owned by a private individual who lives near-by or is it owned by a large business. Is the cottage a real, original cottage or is it a new, mock cottage building? If it is old, is it connected with anyone famous or a famous event? Knowing these facts can all heighten your enjoyment.

Make sure that you are given some maps or drawings so that you can find the spot easily. Especially if you are travelling to the cottage in the evening or in the dark. Things often look far different at night than in the daylight, and if your chosen cottage is in a secluded spot, there may not be any street lighting

Finally, get hold of some pictures of inside and outside the coastal cottage you finally decide on and then reserve it early, because the best coastal cottages go earlier and earlier every year as this form of vacationing becomes ever more popular.

Welsh Terriers A Facing a Struggle

April 8th, 2010

Initially, Welsh terriers were bred for hunting rabbits, foxes and badgers, but public opinion and the drop in the lust for blood generally have gone against blood sports and so this native breed of Wales has become a show dog and a pet. Breeders attempt to outdo each other by breeding the Welsh terrier to have a denser wiry coat and deeper colouration. The Welsh terrier is also a popular pet because it is one of the most easy-going terriers.

The Welsh terrier is a fun loving dog. It just loves to run, chase and play, which makes it a tremendous companion and a perfect pet. Welsh terriers require lots of exercise, so be prepared for lots of walking, if you decide to get one.

It is a good idea to ’socialize’ your dog as soon as possible. This means that you should introduce your Welsh terrier puppy to children and other dogs at an early age. The more you encourage your dog to play with other dogs as a puppy, the less trouble you will have with your dog fighting or barking at other dogs and cats. It’s the same story with children. Children can play very roughly, and a dog could be forgiven for biting back, but it can be avoided by introducing your Welsh terrier puppy to children while it is still young. The child might learn respect, but the dog will learn forbearance.

The Welsh terrier is easily trained, if you like your dog to do tricks. it is an intelligent breed and, being former hunters, they are good at learning commands and tricks. Train your Welsh terrier with kindheartedness and reiteration. They like to retrieve sticks and play with a ball. Many people train their Welsh terriers to catch a flying Frisbee too.

A Welsh terrier will groom himself quite scrupulously, but you can help out by brushing him once a week in order to remove the dead and loose hair. This will also help reduce the amount of hairs dropping inside your house, although terriers in general, and wire-haired dogs in particular do not lose as much hair as soft coated dogs. You could also help by wiping him over with a moist cloth from time to time in order to pick up any dust on his coat.

A Welsh terrier is very active and very inquisitive, so it is advisable to keep your dog in a yard that has been fenced off. However, the fence needs to be realistically high, because the Welsh terrier has an excellent capacity to jump due to its long legs.

The Welsh terrier is Britain’s oldest variety of dog, but it is now under pressure. The British kennel club registers only 300 Welsh terrier puppies a year, whereas it registers tens of thousands of puppies of other, more popular, breeds. The Welsh terrier is a strong-willed animal, so it does need a strong-willed and patient owner.

However. if you want a Welsh terrier and you persevere with it, you will never look back. They have a lot to give and, as with so many things in life, you only get out what you are willing to put in.

Boarding Dogs In Temporary Kennels

April 7th, 2010

Are you the type of dog owner who likes to take your companion with you wherever you go? If you are then you know that that there are occasions when you can do this, but there are also times when you can not, for whatever reason.

On the occasions when that happens, you will often need to find a boarding kennels that will take care of your dog while you are away.

A vacation is a time for relaxing, so you do not want to be worrying about your dog, if you can help it. Within your own country, it is not usually a big problem, but if you go abroad, then taking your dog can be more trouble than it is worth. Not only for you, but for your doggy friend as well.

If you can not board your dog with someone it knows, like a member of your family or a neighbour, then the only alternative is a boarding kennels.

I have placed my dog in a bad kennel once and I learned a few lessons from that. I placed my Becky in a kennel in a highly regarded village just outside our town. I was happy with what I saw and the sales pitch of the owner, so I went to Spain, thinking that all was fine for both of us. I had a great holiday and went straight to the kennels from the airport on my return, although I had told them a fortnight before that I would pick Becky up the day after my arrival. I just could not wait to see her.

I went to the kennels and they were surprised to see me. Of course, I was a day early. They said that Becky was ‘resting’ and that it would be better to ‘come back tomorrow’. No way! So they took me to see her. I nearly cried. She was sitting in a good sized cage, but on newspaper soaking wet with pee.

She noticed me and just looked down at her paws. I called her name again, but she did not want to know. I paid the bill and put her in the car on the front passenger seat where she always sat. She just looked out the window and showed no interest in me whatsoever.

It was three days before she would speak to me again! The moral of this story is not to be impressed by big adverts or impressive locations as I was. Ask your dog-owning friends, write into the local paper inviting recommendations, phone the local animal protection society or the kennel club or look on the Internet.
